Your Rights Under GDPR

Under the UK GDPR, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

Right to Be Informed

You have the right to know how we collect and use your personal data. This information is provided in our Privacy Policy and this GDPR notice.

Right of Access

You have the right to request a copy of the personal data we hold about you. This is commonly known as a Subject Access Request (SAR). We will respond to your request within one month.

Right to Rectification

You have the right to request that we correct any inaccurate personal data we hold about you. We will respond within one month of receiving your request.

Right to Erasure

Also known as the "right to be forgotten," you can request that we delete your personal data in certain circumstances, including:

  • The data is no longer necessary for the purpose we collected it
  • You withdraw your consent (where consent was the legal basis)
  • You object to the processing and there are no overriding legitimate grounds
  • The data has been unlawfully processed

Right to Restrict Processing

You have the right to request that we limit how we use your personal data in certain circumstances, such as when you contest the accuracy of the data or object to our processing.

Right to Data Portability

You have the right to receive your personal data in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format. You can also request that we transfer this data directly to another organisation where technically feasible.

Right to Object

You have the right to object to processing of your personal data in certain circumstances, including:

  • Processing based on legitimate interests or public interest
  • Direct marketing (including profiling)
  • Processing for research or statistical purposes

Rights Related to Automated Decision-Making

You have the right not to be subject to a decision based solely on automated processing, including profiling, which produces legal effects or similarly significantly affects you. We do not currently use automated decision-making processes.

How to Exercise Your Rights

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity before processing your request. We will respond to your request within one month, although this may be extended by two further months for complex requests.

Lawful Basis for Processing

We process your personal data on the following legal bases:

  • Contractual necessity: Processing necessary to perform a contract with you (e.g., booking a course)
  • Consent: Where you have given clear consent for us to process your personal data for a specific purpose (e.g., marketing emails)
  • Legitimate interests: Processing necessary for our legitimate interests, provided these are not overridden by your rights
  • Legal obligation: Processing necessary to comply with a legal obligation

Data Protection Officer

Given the scale and nature of our operations, we are not required to appoint a Data Protection Officer. However, our management team oversees data protection compliance. For any data protection queries, please contact [email protected].

Data Breaches

In the event of a personal data breach that is likely to result in a risk to your rights and freedoms, we will notify the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) within 72 hours. If the breach is likely to result in a high risk to you, we will also notify you directly.

Complaints

If you are not satisfied with how we handle your personal data or respond to your requests, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO):
